Zen on Ten. A review.

You'll find Zen right at the corner of Northside and 10th street.  Inside it's quite lovely. Calling itself an Asian bistro is spot on.  Full beautiful bar and casual dining seating for lunch and dinner. Lots of windows and light airy feel as an Asian bistro should (I have nothing to base this on but in a perfect world I would).

While it LOOKS clean my table and menus were dirty and sticky and I was the first seating of the day. Dirty or not I love the big menu! What a selection of great sushi, salads, soups, entrees and appetizers. They also offer weekly dinner specials and fishbowl cocktails.

I got a super crunchee roll. Fresh tasty and flavorful with the all important crunch.  Spicy tuna roll is standardly delicious. My arms are still distracted by the sticky table as I chopstick through my roll.

Thai Kai Salad is fun. Moist slim pieces of chicken (too large to eat without a knife unfortunately), peanuts and greens served with two side "dressings" including mango vinagrette and peanut sauce. Th menu said tossed but it came side car. I could eat this one everday but wouldn't go out of my way for it as Zen isn't in my hood. I would also return if Zen was in my hood or I lived in the apartment complex that houses this restaurant but alas I do not.

Service adequate but strange.

6 out of 10 for Zen.
