Borgo Italia. A Review.

Located in a strip mall of sorts  it’s a bit of an odd setup comparatively but locals can get used to it fast. Warm greetings from the staff upon entering. You can sidle up to the counter area for a drink and a bite (kitchen in view there) or sit in the living room style waiting area if there isn’t a table at the ready for you. I counted 10 tables.  To me that translates to (hopefully) attentive service. That certainly was the case when I was dining there.

While at the bar we ordered the antipasto di terra. A beautiful and generous platter of meats , cheeses and olives. Put a glass of red in my hand and I was happy. Wine list is limited and limited to Italian selects.

The dinner menu is respectable.  It’s loaded up with the pizzas and pastas you expect along with protein entrees.

I ordered a spinach salad. Crisp fresh leaves and very basically dressed. Pecans (unfortunately not toasted), salata and balsamic. Generous portion but not much flavor.

Veal marsala was on the dismal side. The meat was tough and grissly but flavor of the sauce was nice. I asked for a side of pasta and it was perfectly cooked. Side veg of the day was overcooked and overseasoned.

Limoncello cake was pretty spectacular. The highlight of my meal. Light, lemony and quickly devoured.

Nice coffee menu with full barista service and the coffee I had was delicious-and I am hardcore about my coffee.  

This isn’t destination dining but if you want Italian style flare without the routine of a chain in peachtree city this is the spot for you.
