Rain. A Review.

I've been to Rain multiple times now. Mostly due to the fact that it's so close to the Tara.  I enjoy the vibe upon entering. It's dim yet colorful as one expects most Asian decor to be. Elegant. check. waterfall. check.  A bit more modern than some other older establishments in the area offering similar fare.

Let's eat.

The sushi here comes beautifully presented - even moreso than I find at many competitors in the metro area.  It tastes as good as it looks.  Tempura sampler plate is standard but done nicely. Left me wanting more on both counts. I was full but that didn't mean I wanted to stop. The Tom Kha Kai is as good as any I've had.  I need to check out the pad thai and masaman curry to give a full blessing but up til now I still plan to continue patronizing Rain. I can't eat those heavy dishes then sit in the Tara for 2 hours.

Charming service. Perfectly attentive without even a nuance of annoyance. Reasonable prices even at dinnertime.  Great neighborhood gem.
